Students will undertake foundation core units in anatomy and physiology introducing the musculo-skeletal system and the normal physiology of nerve and muscle function, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system as well as other basic cellular and genetic processes. Other core units will explore the fundamentals in the control of movement and motor skill acquisition, how the human body interacts with its environment and the subsequent optimisation of human performance, and the body's acute and chronic responses to exercise.
