About this course

The Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences Honours program includes an original research project, which is supervised by a member of staff of the Department. A variety of scientific techniques will be learned and students will conduct their research independently with some guidance. Scientific communication and thinking skills established during the undergraduate degree will be consolidated and further developed through various workshops and exercises. To qualify for admission to the Honours program, students are selected on the basis of their performance in the final year of the pass degree course. Students must achieve a 65 per cent average in subjects to the value of 60 credit points relevant to the area in which the Honours discipline is to be undertaken. Meeting this requirement, however, does not guarantee a place in the Honours year as resources may limit the total number of places available, and students are expected to find a supervisor prior to enrolment. The course requires the completion of 120 credit points over one year of full-time study.
