This course is available as an exit program only.

The Associate Degree in Arts is a two-year course, full time (or part-time equivalent), specifically intended to assist students gain skills and knowledge in arts and academic studies in general. The course offers introductory units in academic literacy, computer application and critical thinking, and its structure is designed to enable students to gain core knowledge in at least two arts disciplines. The course provides a supported pathway into university study and eligible graduates may progress onto a University of Tasmania Bachelor of Arts degree. The Associate Degree may also be taken as a stand-alone qualification.

The Associate degree aims to meet the needs of students by:

  • Offering foundation level units in academic literacies,
  • Providing graduates with core knowledge in at least two arts disciplines, and
  • Developing academic skills to allow students to articulate with confidence into a Bachelors Degree for further in-depth study.
