Entry Requirements

All applicants must complete the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) assessment and achieve a competency of at least Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both language and numeracy. Account details and instructions will be sent to you within 24 hours of applying. If you have previously undertaken the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment - we will review your results and notify you if further action is required.

On successful completion of a BKSB you will then be asked to answer 5 application questions in writing.

To meet academic requirements for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses, you need to successfully complete any TasTAFE course entry procedures and you also need to:

  • Have completed year 12 and provide TasTAFE with a copy of your Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education awarded to you by an agency or authority of a State or Territory; OR,

  • Provide TasTAFE with a copy of a qualification at Level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework that was awarded to you. This qualification must have been delivered in English; OR,

  • Complete an approved language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment and display competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both literacy and numeracy.

This course is designed for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people either wishing to enter or already working in the area of community development. Our courses are delivered by well qualified and experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachers within a community setting.
Entry Requirements

The preferred pathway is for all learners to complete a Certificate III in Community Services at CIT (CHC32015).

On entry, you will need to demonstrate appropriate literacy skills by undertaking a literacy assessment. We have embedded literacy into our course to support your learning and success.

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Entry Requirements

Admission requires the completion of the BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF exit level 3 - working level 4, for both literacy and numeracy., Applicants must be 18 years or over, Please note: Students must be able to produce a clear voluntary Working with Children Check and recent National Police Check is prior to commencing placement., Students who are unable to undertake placement will be unable to successfully complete the course.

Entry Requirements

The criteria for admission to this Honours program are:

  • successful completion of a Bachelor of Human Services program or an equivalent qualification
  • a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree - a candidate whose level of achievement falls below this level may apply in writing for special consideration
  • the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature and the availability of appropriate supervision
  • the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the bachelors degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.
