Academic entry requirements Environmental Health major

A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher award)

with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4 (on QUT's 7 point scale)
in any discipline; and a minimum of 48 credit points (equivalent of one semester full time study) of basic science units that were completed at the bachelor degree level and must include:
  • 12 credit points (one subject) of foundation chemistry; and
  • 36 credit points in other science areas (e.g. microbiology physics anatomy and physiology life science).

Pathway leading to Master of Health Safety and Environment (Environmental Health)

Graduate Certificate in Communication for Health (Environmental Health) (1 semester) February or July entry leading to PU80 Master of Health Safety and Environment (Environmental Health) (4 semesters) February or July entry.

Nursing major

A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher award)

with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4 (on QUT's 7 point scale)
in nursing; or a completed recognised associate degree in nursing and one of year work experience as a registered nurse (or equivalent).

The Master of Advanced Practice Nursing does not lead to registration as a nurse in Australia. International students seeking registration in Australia should contact the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for further advice or consider our Master of Nursing - Entry to Practice program.

Graduate Certificate in Communication for Health (Nursing) (1 semester) into:

  • February or July entry leading to NS80 Master of Advanced Practice Nursing (Chronic Health Care Nursing) (3 semesters) February or July entry.
  • February or July entry leading to NS80 Master of Advanced practice Nursing (Health Professional Education) (3 semesters) February or July entry.
  • February or July entry leading to NS80 Master of Advanced practice Nursing (Cross- Specialisation) (3 semesters) February or July entry.
Public Health major
