Applicants must:
- hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or
- CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
For entry applicants must show evidence that they have a Registered Working with Vulnerable People Card (RWVP) or a receipt that the applicant has applied for a RWVP card. A RWVP card is a requirement of the National Quality Framework Regulations for Early Education environments (if a receipt is used as evidence the card must be shown as evidence prior to stating the course).
Applicants are required to provide evidence of Year 12 or equivalent - passes in English and Maths.
Acceptable evidence for passes in English and Maths - Certificate or Statement for any of the below:
- TCE or Year 12 certificate - any state
- Certificate IV or above
- International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
Applicants who are unable to provide evidence of Year 12, or equivalent, in English and Maths will be required to undertake the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) to confirm they have the required Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to work at an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) exit level 3 or higher.
To meet academic requirements for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses, you need to successfully complete any TasTAFE course entry procedures and you also need to:
- Have completed year 12 and provide TasTAFE with a copy of your Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education awarded to you by an agency or authority of a State or Territory; OR,
- Provide TasTAFE with a copy of a qualification at Level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework that was awarded to you. This qualification must have been delivered in English; OR,
- Complete an approved language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment and display competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both literacy and numeracy.
