About this course

This course provides network engineers, currently in or aiming for upper management positions, with a range of high level specialist IT networking and cyber security knowledge and skills. Graduates of this qualification will also gain the knowledge and skills to: - design, implement, secure and maintain large enterprise networks - identify, manage, analyse and use initiative to lead a team in diffusing and preventing cyber security breaches - enhance the information technology infrastructure of businesses and/or government to increase cyber security. Graduates will also extend or gain high level business management skills and knowledge. These skills include research, evaluation, project management, strategic change management and continuous improvement of ICT technologies within a business or government context.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have an undergraduate IT degree including networking from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent international qualification formally recognised within Australia)

OR a Diploma of Information Technology Networking (or qualification deemed equivalent) PLUS at least two years of full-time equivalent employment in networking including work team experience

OR at least four years of full-time equivalent employment in IT networking with significant exposure to cyber security responsibilities.

International students will need an IELTS overall score of at least 6.0 and with no score below 5.5.

Recommended Entry Attributes:

It is preferred that applicants are currently employed in the IT networking industry OR have recent networking industry experience (this may include qualification-supported work placements).
