Charles Sturt takes a holistic approach to understand each applicant's potential for academic success. Each student is assessed on a range of factors including academic readiness, previous study, work and life experience, motivation to succeed, and awareness of the demands of tertiary study.

Charles Sturt offers a range of pathways and admission options into this program including:

• Applicants with higher education study: Successful completion of at least two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
• Completed bridging or enabling course: Successful completion of a Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
• Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study: A completed AQF Certificate III (or higher) at an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies. 50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification at an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
• Applicants with work and life experience: Commissioned Officers from Australian Police, Fire, Mercantile Marine, Civil Aviation and Defence Forces (and related) can be admitted on the basis of rank, license, class, length of service and/or competencies achieved.

Higher CSU English Language Proficiency requirements: For International students from non-English-speaking backgrounds: an overall IELTS (or equivalent) score of 7.5 (with no score below 7 in reading and writing, and a score of no less than 8 in speaking and listening).

Supplementary application forms: To apply for this course, you will need to complete the following and upload it with your application: Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) Teaching questionnaire.

Entry requirements

Applicants will be admitted to the Bachelor of Education (K-12) if prior studies are assessed as meeting the Selection Rank for the course (see below). This includes applicants who meet the selection rank but have NOT achieved three HSC Band 5's with one of those in English and at least a Band 4 in Mathematics. This requirement is met through the course design which has a full first year of academic discipline studies in the subjects they will teach, including a mathematics/numeracy discipline subject. In addition, applicants must meet non-academic entry requirements.

English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements

• Born in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or United Kingdom, and have completed at least one senior secondary or tertiary qualification in one of these countries. This qualification must have been taught and assessed in English; OR
• Not born in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or United Kingdom, but have completed senior secondary study or at least three years of full-time university study (or equivalent) in one of these countries, and the language in which the qualification was taught and assessed was English; OR
• An IELTS (Academic) test result with an average band score of 7.5 across all four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, with no score below 7.0 in any of the four skill areas and a score of no less than 8.0 in speaking and listening. Testing results must be obtained within two years from the date of your application for admission; OR
• International Second Language Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) with a score of Level 4 in all four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, undertaken at approved testing sites where the assessment is teacher focused. Testing results must be within two years from the date of your application for admission.

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
• Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five Years) (or AQF equivalent)
• Three-year Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching qualification (or AQF equivalent) from a recognised university

To be eligible for a place in the Joint Program in Medicine you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. The application process includes the following steps:

• Register for and sit UCAT ANZ.
• Apply through UAC (Universities Admissions Centre). You must indicate the Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine at Charles Sturt University (Orange) as one of your preferences (course code 725505).

Rural Entry Admissions Scheme:

• Register for and sit UCAT ANZ (University Clinical Aptitude Test).
• Apply through UAC for the Joint Program in Medicine.
• Confirm your remoteness area through Doctor Connect.
• Submit a Community Member Confirmation form.
• Meet the academic threshold for entry ATAR 91.5 (or equivalent).

Non-rural applicants:

• Register for and sit UCAT ANZ (University Clinical Aptitude Test).
• Apply through UAC for the Joint Program in Medicine.
• Meet the academic threshold for entry ATAR 95.5 (or equivalent).

First Nations Applicants:

• Meet minimum academic requirements.
• Apply via the University Admissions Centre (UAC).
• Provide confirmation documentation.
• Attend a panel interview.

A student enrolled in the Undergraduate Certificate in Foot Health must either work in a podiatry practice - or have the opportunity to establish a relationship with a podiatrist - in their home location. This is to make sure the student has adequate opportunities to observe podiatric practice and complete supervised practice hours, under the guidance of a registered podiatrist.
