Whether you have sailing in your blood or have recently found a passion for shipbuilding, marine craft construction is an excellent career for anyone who loves building things with their hands.

Learn to fix and build components and assemble boats. Our expert trainers will support you both in class and in the workplace and give you the technical know-how to shine in this specialist field.

The skills you will gain with this qualification are intended to apply to a wide range of marine craft construction work, including undertaking manufacturing and repairs of boats in fiber-reinforced plastics, timber and metal and marine/boat yard operations, fitting out of internal and external components of vessels and installation of engineering drive systems.

This course is delivered as an apprenticeship.

  • Undertake a Pre-training Review to ensure the course suits your needs and aspirations, and that you are likely to complete the course successfully.
  • Complete a Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) test to ensure the required language, literacy and numeracy levels are met for the course.
  • Please apply through an Apprenticeship Network Provider with your employer to organise your apprenticeship contract prior to applying for this course.
