This WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course has a focus on workplace violence and is an opportunity to revisit aspects of the HSR Initial OHS Training Course and to keep up to date with any legislative changes that may have occurred. Attendance could also be beneficial for Health and Safety Committee members or Operational Supervisors.

The course is delivered in one day and is for Group bookings only.

Under the OHS Act 2004 (section 67) all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) and Deputy HSRs are entitled to undertake WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS Refresher Training for HSRs at least once per year after completing the initial course of training and choose their course in consultation with their employer. An employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR and elected Deputy HSR to attend a WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course on paid time, pay the cost of the course and any other associated costs.

Emphasis is on participant involvement with activities covering:

  • Consultation
  • Plant (machinery) case study
  • Issue Resolution
  • Provisional Improvement Notices
  • WorkSafe Inspectors

When students complete this course, they will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
