Certificate
This Certificate II in Furniture Making will give you the foundation skills and knowledge required to make free-standing furniture or built-in cabinets and provide on-site assistance in the installation of furniture or cabinets.
There are no formal entry requirements for this program.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

In our state-of-the-art workshop which simulates a real workplace, our expert teaching staff will ensure you are industry-ready by completing a range of basic production skills such as:
* workplace safety
* power tools
* hand tools
* static machines
* construction methods
* surface coatings
* installation techniques.
Upon completing this qualification, you will have a broader understanding of the Cabinet Making/Joinery industry. The skills and knowledge you have gained throughout the course will assist you in gaining employment as an apprentice or furthering your studies, such as Furniture Design.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
