Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we have adapted our course delivery to now encompass a combination of remote and flexible delivery methods. This includes interactive online tutorials, facilitated video conferencing (classroom simulation) as well as one-on-one mentoring. Therefore, you will require access to the internet and a computer to undertake this course.
Literacy and Numeracy Support enables students to improve their employability.
This course is designed to develop the literacy and numeracy skills of learners who intend to study pre-apprenticeship and certificate II courses.
We deliver literacy units focused on reading and writing; and numeracy units that focus on addition, subtraction, weighing, measuring, money and basic mathematical literacy.
Often students undertaking apprenticeships, VCE or other vocational studies and need to further develop their literacy and numeracy skills in order to successfully complete their course work.
Learning Support is a program customised to assist each individual to develop their foundation skills.
There are no set prerequisites for this course. However you will be required to undertake a short literacy and numeracy assessment to ensure this program will assist in the further development of your Foundation skills including but is not limited to literacy and/or numeracy.
This program aims to improve reading, writing or numeracy, as well as employability skills and may give access to further education and training opportunities.
