From beginner to advanced levels, you can improve your English skills with Melbourne Polytechnic's International English programs. Students with limited English skills find it much harder to succeed in further study in Australia. You will learn practical English for work, study, and everyday situations, with a focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing. We will support you, and give you confidence in Australian workplaces and learning environments.
Flexible learningMelbourne Polytechnic's International English program is flexible, and the duration of this course depends on your personal goals. You are required to attend 20 hours of classes per week from Monday to Friday, but you can choose from a minimum of five weeks of study, to a maximum of 45 weeks of study.
Get ready to studyOur International English program is designed to prepare you for studying in English in Australia. When you have finished the course duration of your choice, your improved English should make studying easier and help you achieve your goals.
You can seek Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where your work experience or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. RPL is individually assessed based on evidence submitted by the student to the teaching department. Applications for RPL will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic trainers, academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
