Certificate IV in Building and Construction

Are you already in the building and construction industry? Would you like to step up into supervisory role? Maybe you're a tradesperson hoping to become a subcontractor or business owner. If this sounds like you, why not take the next step in your career?

This post-trade qualification will give you the skills you need to achieve your career aspirations! It will qualify you to supervise low-rise residential building projects and assist in the application for a registered builder licence.

Successful completion of this qualification will support your application for registration to the Victorian Building Authority.

Notably, this qualification is run in conjunction with the Master Builders Association Victoria (MBA) using training resources produced by them.

Information Sessions Friday 31 March 4pm - 4.45pm and Monday 3 April 5.30pm - 6.15pm at Sherwood Park.

This qualification will provide you with the skills to manage construction sites, supervise or create your own building business. These skills include:

• estimating costs for projects
• interpreting plans and specifications
• managing OHS in the workplace
• preparing construction contracts
• applying legal requirements
• small business planning
• managing small business finances
• producing labour and material schedules
• conduct on-site supervision
• apply structural principles

There are five simple steps to apply for a course with us.

1. Apply - complete a short online application form. Once this form is submitted we'll send you a thank you email.
2. Get ready - your thank-you email will contain links to a pre-training review, to a unique student identifier and to government-subsidised training eligibility.
3. Chat with your teacher - your teacher or course specialist will contact you about your Pre-Training Review outcomes and additional course information.
4. Enrol - after chatting with your teacher, you will receive an email with your enrolment form and a link to verify your identity.
5. Sign - once you've completed your enrolment, you will receive a declaration form to review and sign.
