About this course

Overview

This course is an introductory course, specially designed to equip students with the basic skills of Japanese Language. Students will be exposed to the basic grammar elements presented using the 3K formula which consists of KIKU(Listening), KAKI(Writing)-Hiragana and KAIWA(Speaking). Students will be given the opportunity to reflect on their own cultural knowledge by experiencing the Japanese cultural elements which will be embedded in each lesson. This foundation course of Japanese language is aimed to be a motivation for students to pursue the higher level of Japanese language 2 and 3.

On completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Read and write Hiragana Correctly
  • Converse with other about basic daily topics in Japanese
  • Write a short introductory paragraph
