About this course

Make a real difference to the young people in your community with Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

About one in four young Australians experience a common mental illness each year.

This short course covers the practical skills you'll need as an adult to recognise common mental health problems in young people, and is based on guidelines developed through the consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

In this course, you will learn how to use a practical, evidence-based Action Plan to provide initial assistance to adolescents who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

You will also have the opportunity to increase your confidence in providing first aid and supporting others, as well as improving your knowledge of mental illnesses, treatments and first aid actions.

On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attendance. If you successfully complete the online assessment component of this short course, you will also receive a three-year accreditation certificate as a Mental

Health First Aider through Mental Health First Aid Australia.

This course is also accredited for 12 CPD points for allied health professions.

Note- you must be over 18 to undertake this course.
