This course will equip you with the leadership skills needed to navigate the unique contemporary challenges and opportunities in Australia and globally.

It's been developed in consultation with leading professional services organisations, major business stakeholder organisations, and human resource management and organisational development practitioners.

It's aligned with the criteria for Australian Human Resource Institute accreditation and the Society for Human Resource Management certification.

By the end of this micro-credential, you'll be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the differences between individual and team-level creativity processes, the organisational attributes that support innovation activity, and the role of leadership in supporting creativity and innovation
  • Critically evaluate models of creativity and innovation and the contexts in which they might be applied to generate sources of competitive advantage
  • Generate actionable strategies to promote a culture of problem-solving and creativity at the individual and team levels and which support innovation at the organisation level.

This course runs over four weeks.

Your total time commitment is approximately 42 hours, which includes:

  • 9 hours guided learning
  • 13 hours private study
  • 20 hours assessment tasks.

Assessment:

  • Leadership development activity (60%)
  • Short-answer and multiple-choice questions (30%)
  • Discussion forum and webinar participation (10%).

Once you've successfully completed this course, you will be awarded your Creativity and Innovation Melbourne MicroCert. This digital certificate will warrant the achievement of knowledge, skills and capabilities outlined in the learning outcomes. It may also include artefacts (such as videos and written material) related to both experiential and work-integrated learning, including translatable assessment that is practical to your professional life. You can also share your Melbourne MicroCert digitally and via social media by adding it to your personal platforms, such as LinkedIn. See example certificate.
