The Bachelor of Special and Inclusive Education (Primary) is only open to International Students with an Australian Temporary Resident status that permits them to study online. Please note that it is a NESA requirement that a minimum of 50% of Professional Experience Placements are completed in Australian settings.

Successful applicants to this 144 credit point course are granted 96 credit points of Advanced Standing at the time of admission based on a combination of formal education and work-based learning. This course may not be undertaken concurrently with, or upon successful completion of, UNE Bachelor of Organisational Leadership.

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or overseas equivalent in a relevant area*; or

(b) hold an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma qualification in a relevant area* from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and at least three years' relevant professional experience**; or

(c) hold an AQF Level 5 Diploma qualification in a relevant area* from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and at least four years' relevant professional experience**; or

(d) have relevant professional development/training activities equivalent to 2400 hours (the applicant is required to provide a portfolio of evidence and a summary of face-to-face and private study hours) and at least five years' relevant professional experience** which is deemed to be equivalent to Admission Rule (a), (b) or (c).

(a) shall complete a satisfactory written personal statement assessed by the discipline within six months prior to the date of enrolment;

(b) shall have on admission to the degree a performing standard equivalent to Grade 6 of the Australian Examinations Board demonstrated via audition or music performance qualifications;

(c) shall have on admission to the degree a music theory standard equivalent to Grade 4 of the Australian Music Examinations Board demonstrated via music performancequalifications or the successful completion of a music theory test set by the Music Discipline Convenor.

Former or current UNE students may transfer into the Diploma in Music on the basis of previous Music studies completed as part of a University of New England degree where they have:

(a) completed MUSI121 with a Credit grade or higher;

(b) completed MUSI101 or MUSI110 or MUSI111 with a Credit grade or higher.

A candidate shall:

(a)

(b) hold an AQF Level 7 four year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised Australian University or tertiary institution (or overseas equivalent as assessed by Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR));

(c) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree and an AQF Level 8 or Level 9 one or two year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised Australian University (or overseas equivalent as assessed by Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR)); and

(d) candidates admitted under rule (b) or (c) must demonstrate the required language proficiency to commence language study at 200-level or above, through the satisfactory completion of a placement assessment as approved by the relevant discipline convenor.
