Bachelor (Honours)

Honours in Criminology is an intensive year-long program that enables students to research a topic they are passionate about.
Entry Requirements

1. Admission to candidature shall be determined by the Head of School on the recommendation of the Course Coordinator.

2. Excepts as provided in Rule 3, a candidate for admission to the honours course shall have:

(a) satisfied all requirements of an AQF level 7:
(i) Bachelor of Arts majoring in Criminology or Bachelor of Criminology from the University of New England;
or

(ii) Bachelor of Criminology in the Bachelor of Criminology/Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England;
and

(b) achieved a grade point average of 5.0 (Credit);
and

(c) attained at least Distinction standard in 12 credit points at 300 level in Criminology and CRIM244 or equivalent;
and

(d) passed units to the value of at least 48 credit points in the subject in which the candidate wishes to proceed;
and

(e) have fulfilled any additional requirements prescribed and published by the School or area concerned;

3. With the approval of the Head of School a person who has fulfilled the requirements of an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification of a university or other institution and who meets requirements considered by the school to be equivalent to those specified in Rule 2(b), (c), (d) and (e), may be admitted to the honours course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Criminology with Honours.

Candidates admitted under Rule 2(a)(ii) shall have completed all requirements for admission to the degrees of Bachelor of Criminology/Bachelor of Laws before being awarded the Bachelor of Criminology with Honours.

This course was previously known as Graduate Certificate in Disability. The Graduate Certificate in Disability Practice provides knowledge and skills in accordance with the professional standards and requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
