Students must be over the age of 16 years old to enrol into this course.

Students are selected from the Wheatbelt Community that are required to use basic machinery in their daily work schedule to maintain grounds, prepare garden beds, basic works including mowing and cleaning.. This process is communicated between the Lecturer and the Manager of Muresk. TAFE resources will be utilised- Kanga digger and mowing equipment that employees would normally use in the work environment.

Candidates will undergo an aptitude test prior to enrolment. The lecturer of the course will arrange an interview prior to the enrolment process to ascertain the level of LLN and make applications for CAVVS support if required. Note this aptitude test is not intended to specifically exclude students from enrolment however may be used to rank students if there are more applicants than available places.

Students will need to seek work or currently work in Parks and Gardens Crews, Horticulture Crews and/or Farm Crews that are required to use chainsaws in their daily work schedule. CR TAFE will provide all equipment and PPE for the training program.
