Safely use an elevating work platform. . In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type elevating work platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more.
Entry Requirements
  • WorkSafe requires the student must be 18 years of age to obtain a High-Risk Licence.
  • Students are expected to have basic English reading, writing and numeracy skills to complete the National Assessment Instrument (NAI) - the mandated assessment.
  • It is expected that students will be able to communicate in English without assistance from another person (including a translator).
  • Students must be prepared to undertake the written and practical tests under specific test conditions (e.g. closed book, stipulated time frame).
  • Pre-Workshop reading and Questions must be answered prior to attending the training.

Complete physical tasks safely. . As a support worker or a carer you may be required to complete manual handling tasks for your patients.

Participants will have the option of gaining either a HR, HC and or MC truck licence, depending on their individual circumstances. The participant must meet the required license authorisation for their selected vehicle class license as set out below.

Heavy Rigid (HR) Class Licence

HR Licence Unit: TLIC3004 Drive Heavy Rigid Vehicle
Participants must hold:

  • a Car (C) class licence for at least two years, or
  • a Light Rigid (LR) class licence for at least one year, or
  • a Medium Rigid (MR) class licence for at least one year.

Heavy Combination (HC) Class Licence

HC Licence Unit: TLIC3005 Drive heavy combination vehicle
Participants must hold:

  • a Car (C class) licence for at least three years, and
  • a Medium Rigid (MR class) for at least one year, or
  • a Heavy Rigid (HR) class licence for at least one year.

Multi Combination (MC) Class Licence

MC Licence Unit: TLIC4006 Drive multi-combination vehicle
Participants must hold:

  • a Car (C) class licence for at least three years, and
  • a Heavy Rigid (HR) class licence for at least one year, or
  • a Heavy Combination (HC) class licence for at least one year.
