This requirement is met through the course design which has students studying a full first year of discipline studies in the subjects they will teach and a mathematics/numeracy discipline subject (0 points). In addition, applicants must meet non-academic entry requirements.

Students must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Born in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or United Kingdom, and have completed at least one senior secondary or tertiary qualification in one of these countries. This qualification must have been taught and assessed in English; OR
  • Not born in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or United Kingdom, but have completed senior secondary study or at least three years of full-time university study (or equivalent) in one of these countries, and the language in which the qualification was taught and assessed was English; OR
  • An IELTS (Academic) test result with an average band score of 7.5 across all four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, with no score below 7.0 in any of the four skill areas and a score of no less than 8.0 in speaking and listening.
