This unit has a pre-requisite requirement. This requirement may be met by either the successful completion of the unit CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level or holding a valid licence for basic scaffolding.
Students will be required to apply for enrolment. A starter pack will be forwarded to the student, this will include a Pre-Training Review (PTR) requiring completion, the PTR will be reviewed by a trainer. An invitation to complete an online Enrolment Form will be forwarded to the student to complete the enrolment process. Enrolments will need to be complete five days prior to delivery.

Entry to each EAL Course in / qualification must be determined
according to the following criteria:

  • a participant's current English language skills. (The Listening and Speaking and Reading and Writing units in the Framework will provide the basis for initial assessment processes and placement of participants at the appropriate proficiency level)
  • a participant's prior formal education experience, both overseas and in Australia
  • any prior EAL learning
  • a participant's learning and pathway needs including employability skills, literacies (digital and other literacies), and further educational and vocational training needs

The skills acquired during this course will enable students to qualify to sit a Weld Australia Exam as a Certified Welder, obtaining a Welding Ticket 1-9 (dependant on selection).
Entry Requirements

To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 300 hours Welding experience in a related Industry OR be a qualified Fabricator and hold a Certificate III qualification.

This course provides mandatory training and assessment for WELD AUSTRALIA certified welding tickets. It is designed for competent welders wanting a qualification to weld pressure vessels as defined in AS/NZ1796

You need to fit one of the following criteria:

  1. You are currently undertaking an engineering fabrication apprenticeship, with one year's welding experience, in the welding process applicable to the welding ticket you are applying for.
  2. Two year's welding experience with documented evidence of the successful completion of one or more welding programs, which includes 300 hours of training in welding theory and practise.
  3. Three year's welding experience in the welding process applicable to the welding ticket you are applying for.
